Foskett Marr Gadsby & Head LLP would like to extend a huge congratulations to Partner, Duncan Gadsby, and the Exterior Plas team, who successfully reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro on 3 April 2017.
Standing 5,895 metres high, Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest volcano, outside South America.
During the 5-day trek along the less-travelled Rongai route, the team covered approximately 70 kilometres and confronted extreme temperatures ranging from 30°C to -5°C.
After several days of ascending and breaking at the camps situated on the summit route, the team mentally prepared themselves for Summit Day, which would undoubtedly be the toughest part of their journey yet.
The day began in the early hours, as the team set off in pitch black darkness and sub-freezing temperatures to endure an intense 8-hour climb. Despite the difficulty of the challenge, the team’s strength and motivation was inspiring and the ascent proved to be well worth the wait as they reached the summit and stood on Africa’s highest point, Uhuru Peak.
Foskett Marr are extremely proud of Duncan and the Exterior Plas team for accomplishing this incredible life-time achievement.
As well as fulfilling their personal ambitions, the team have raised over £10,000 for “Help for Heroes,” which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. The charity provides support to those who have suffered injuries and illnesses while serving in the British Armed Forces, and to their families.
