Following on from Foskett Marr Gadsby & Head’s blog last week, Parliament has now confirmed that the increase in court fees for civil claims will take effect from Monday 9 March 2015.
As previously mentioned, claims between £10,000 and £200,000 will attract a court fee of 5% of the value of the claim. Claims above £200,000 will attract a capped fee of £10,000. The table below sets out example fees:
Value of Claim (£) |
New Issue Fee (£) |
£20,000 |
£1,000 |
£50,000 |
£2,500 |
£90,000 |
£4,500 |
£150,000 |
£7,500 |
£200,000 |
£10,000 |
£250,000 |
£10,000 |
The changes will not affect claims below the £10,000 threshold.
