Our London Legal Walk heroes

We asked some of our London Legal Walk 2025 team to write some words on their experience and here’s what they said.

Blessing Skolodova, Solicitor, from our Family Law team
We had a brilliant time yesterday; it was a really lovely afternoon. We did the park route which was very scenic and managed to complete the 10km in 2.5/3 hours.

It was great taking part in the London Legal Walk yesterday with the Foskett Marr Gadsby & Head LLP team! We walked 10km to raise money for the London Legal Support Trust which helps access to justice by supporting free legal advice charities across London and the South East.

These organisations are important for individuals who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford legal support. This is becoming more and more of an issue as a result of the ongoing cost of living crisis and limitations on Legal Aid.

So many people from the legal profession came together for a great cause. It was lovely catching up with friends and former colleagues along the way!

Paul Dutch, Senior Associate Solicitor from our Commercial Property team
As an ex-athletics club runner, I was delighted to join my FMGH team/colleagues Laura, Blessing, Hannah, Chloe and Lauren as well as leading Judiciary, barristers and other firms of solicitors on a very hot June 17th in the 10k London Legal Walk from The Law Society on the scenic/beautiful Royal Parks route.

I have been going on this fund-raising walk on and off for about 15 years. It has grown enormously both in size and in the amount of fund raising achieved since my first Legal Walk even though my 10k time is slower! The increase in the amount of fund raising for the charity London Legal Support Trust to fund Law Centres has proved a lifeline for vulnerable people in need of legal advice.

Cutbacks in legal aid and pressure on funding to local authorities has meant significant reductions in grants and in some cases closure of Law Centres, Citizens Advice and other pro bono legal advice agencies.

I am pleased that the London Legal Walk fundraising has contributed towards the funding gap and helped vulnerable people have access to justice, regardless of their financial circumstances.
